Strong winds and heavy rain whipped New York and New England on Sunday as a massive storm rakes the US East Coast from South Carolina northward, causing coastal flooding as well as transportation delays and disruptions.

Rain was falling across New York City and winds were rising, gusting to 37 miles (60 kilometers) per hour in Queens as the storm gains strength off the coast, according to the National Weather Service. Several videos showed street flooding in coastal Virginia as the storm pushed tides higher along the shore. Gusts may reach as high as 60 mph overnight.
