NATO Launches Annual Nuclear Drill as Europe Rethinks Deterrence
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s annual nuclear deterrence drills will begin on Monday, Secretary General Mark Rutte said — a routine event with added significance as the US mulls scaling down its military presence in Europe.
The exercises, called Steadfast Noon, will take place in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Denmark just weeks after a wave of drone incursions and cyberattacks rattled several northern European countries.
