The proposed Port of Gauteng, southeast of Johannesburg, would address the freight blockages on the N3 freeway that links the province to the port of Durban — the nation’s busiest container hub — by creating car and rail terminals with train-to-truck transfers, the Johannesburg-based newspaper reported, citing a white paper released by NT55 Investments, which is behind the plan.
