ASML Appoints Marco Pieters to Chief Tech Officer Role

ASML Holding NV named Marco Pieters chief technology officer of the chip-equipment company, plugging a vital gap in management at Europe’s most valuable technology firm.

Pieters, 49, will assume the role with immediate effect, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Christophe Fouquet, according to a statement on Thursday. He takes on a role vacated by Martin van den Brink, who joined the Dutch company in 1984 and is seen as one of the drivers behind ASML’s technological innovations. Van den Brink retired last year.
