ASML Appoints Marco Pieters to Chief Tech Officer Role

ASML Holding NV named Marco Pieters chief technology officer of the chip-equipment company, plugging a vital gap in management at Europe’s most valuable technology firm.

Pieters, 49, will assume the role with immediate effect, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Christophe Fouquet, according to a statementBloomberg Terminal on Thursday. He takes on a role vacated by Martin van den Brink, who joined the Dutch company in 1984 and is seen as one of the drivers behind ASML’s technological innovations.
