Planet Labs to Launch Satellites Promising Images in an Hour

Planet Labs PBC will launch a constellation of Earth observation satellites promising to deliver higher-resolution, AI-analyzed images within an hour.

The new monitors, dubbed Owl, will expand the company’s existing fleet of about 150 imagery spacecraft in orbit. The machines track changes ranging from the impacts of natural disasters to the movements of vessels and aircraft.
