Greenland’s prime minister called on the European Union to deepen cooperation on connectivity in the Arctic territory to prevent “unauthorized parties” from disrupting its digital infrastructure.

The plea comes amid intensifying geopolitical interest in the Arctic, where Russia is asserting military presence and US President Donald Trump is pushing to take control of Greenland. The island, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, has also become a focal point of global competition as melting ice opens new shipping lanes and access to critical minerals.
