French Stocks Drop Most in Six Weeks After Prime Minister Quits
French stocks fell by the most since late August after Sebastien Lecornu unexpectedly resigned as prime minister, sparking worries about further political turmoil in the country.
The CAC 40 Index fell 1.4% by the close, while a Barclays Plc equity basket tracking firms that generate more than 30% of their revenue in France dropped 2.3%. French banks Societe Generale SA, Credit Agricole SA and BNP Paribas SA led declines among regional lenders as the 10-year yield jumped.
