Danish industrial production fell the most since January, dragged down by the pharmaceutical sector and underscoring the economy’s dependence on ailing Novo Nordisk A/S.

Output fell a seasonally adjusted 2.9% in August from July, the biggest decline in seven months, according to Statistics Denmark on Monday. The drop was driven primarily by an 8.9% slide in pharmaceutical production, a sector that accounts for roughly one-fifth of total industrial output.
