A growing public backlash over Lithuania’s week-old government led to the resignation of a cabinet minister as the country’s cultural community threatened fresh protests and warned about the erosion of democratic values.
Culture Minister Ignotas Adomavicius stepped down Friday following a public outcry against the ruling coalition’s decision to allow the role to be filled by the Dawn of Nemunas party, whose leader is accused of making antisemitic remarks.
