France’s Socialist Party said Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s offers to raise taxes on the rich and give lawmakers greater sway over the budget remain insufficient to stop them voting him out of office.

The embattled French premier proposed a new levy on “financial wealth” and vowed on Friday not to invoke a constitutional tool known as Article 49.3 to bypass votes in parliament on the 2026 finance bill.
