Telecel, Ghana’s second-largest telecommunications company, is looking to solidify its position by taking on 3 million customers from a distressed state-run competitor.

The operator has started a government-mandated “rescue mission” to absorb AT Ghana’s subscribers as the carrier grapples with financial challenges, Telecel Group Chief Executive Officer Moh Damush said in an interview last week from London.
