French Unions Hold Fresh Protests to Pressure Lecornu on Budget

French unions are holding a new round of anti-austerity protests Thursday, seeking to maintain pressure on Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu as he struggles to pull together a budget proposal.

Walkouts are planned in sectors including education and transport, though they are expected to be less disruptive than protests held on Sept. 18. Air traffic disruptions should remain limited, with only Paris Beauvais airport expected to reduce flight schedules. High-speed trains and the Paris metro should run normally.
