France faces new strikes that are likely to disrupt air travel just as the country is losing its attraction as a tourist and business destination because of the political turmoil and higher taxes.

A general strike planned for Thursday should have limited immediate impact on the airline industry, aviation authority DGAC said in a statement late Tuesday. The body told carriers to cut 30% of their flights at Paris Beauvais airport on Thursday and said it expects delays and disruptions elsewhere.
