Former Labour leader Ed Miliband cautioned against bringing US-style culture wars into British politics, as he defended his green agenda from attacks by Nigel Farage’s populist Reform UK.

Miliband, who oversees energy policy in Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government, accused Reform of threatening a new generation of industrial jobs with its pledges to kill renewable energy projects if the insurgent party wins power in the next election. Miliband told the Labour Party’s annual conference in Liverpool that such policies would “wreck everything we’re doing.”
