Lacking Air Defense, Europe Races to Catch Up in Drone War

A rise in drone incursions into European airspace has prompted a rush among Western allies to build up their defenses. But the continent faces a multitude of challenges that will make it hard to mount a quick response.

Since European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said last month that the European Union will build a “drone wall,” officials and industry leaders in Brussels and across the bloc have raced to figure out ways to turn it into a reality.
