Singapore to Train Lawyers To Advise On Booming Family Offices

Singapore will launch a certification program next year to train lawyers in family office advisory, as the legal profession races to keep pace with the city-state’s wealth management industry.

Many of Singapore’s 6,500 lawyers lack the skills needed to guide ultra-rich clients through cross-border structures, succession planning and tax issues. The new course, developed by the Wealth Management Institute and the Law Society of Singapore, will cover governance, compliance and international tax.
