Germany said broader United Nations sanctions will be imposed on Iran after talks between European powers and the Islamic Republic failed to deliver a solution to their impasse over the country’s nuclear program.
“We offered a lot of opportunities to come to a new negotiated solution, but they didn’t use that space,” German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told Bloomberg TV, referring to Iranian officials. “The sanctions will be imposed.”
