UAE Seeks Deal With Canada to Double Trade, Economy Minister Says

The United Arab Emirates is in talks with Canada to sign an agreement that aims to double bilateral trade, the country’s economy minister said.

The Gulf country has signed more than two dozen so-called partnership agreements with countries including Malaysia, New Zealand and Kenya, according to the Emirates News Agency. The UAE wants one with Canada in the hope of increasing trade to C$7 billion ($5 billion) from around C$3.5 billion currently, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri said at a conference in Calgary.
