The second-term Democratic governor and frequent critic of Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday that asks departments to identify ways to put 4% of their budgets into reserves, limit spending and prioritize only essential hires in the wake of Trump’s tax and spending package. That legislation, along with tariffs and other policies, will erode health care, food assistance and other services for working families, Pritzker said.
