Malawi’s Ex-President Set for Election Win, Partial Count Shows

Mutharika, who led the southern African nation before being voted out of office five years ago, secured 65.4% of the 3.09 million ballots counted in 24 of the 36 councils, and Chakwera 23.3%, according to results released by the Malawi Electoral Commission by late Monday.
