Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage dodged questions about how his new immigration proposals would affect the City of London and other key sectors of the UK economy, as he set out plans to ax indefinite leave to remain.

Farage said he would abolish the “settled status” provision allowing migrants to work in the UK indefinitely and claim certain benefits if his poll-leading party wins the next general election. Asked about the potentially chilling effect that would have on overseas workers’ willingness to come to work in financial services, or other UK sectors with high demand for foreign talent, Farage laughed.
