Trump Calls FCC Chair a ‘Patriot,’ Disagrees With Cruz Criticism

President Donald Trump defended his Federal Communications Commission chair against criticism, including from Republican Senator Ted Cruz, over his threats to the ABC broadcast network, which have spurred concern about free speech rights.

“I think Brendan Carr is a great American patriot. So I disagree with Ted Cruz,” Trump said Friday during an event in the Oval Office.
