Ukrainian Telecom’s Nasdaq Debut Powered by Wartime Resilience

It’s not often that the Nasdaq’s market-opening ceremony includes a prime minister and a call to prayer. Then again, it’s just as rare for a Ukrainian company to list on an American stock exchange.

But that was the setup on a late-August morning in Times Square, as the war-ravaged country’s largest mobile network operator celebrated its US listing and the audience, which included Ukrainian head of government Yuliia Svyrydenko, observed a moment of silence for the war’s victims.
