Mercado Pago Buys Brazilian Firm to Expand Investment Products

Mercado Pago, the financial services arm of MercadoLibre, has agreed to acquire Brazilian securities distributor Nikos DTVM, a move that will expand its offerings of investment products in Latin America’s largest economy.

The purchase will allow Mercado Pago to structure and distribute its own fixed-income securities, investment funds and third-party products directly, as well as grow its existing assets under management in Brazil. Mercado Pago began offering investment services in the country in 2022.
