Majority of Countries Yet to Secure Accommodations for COP30 in Brazil

With less than two months until COP30, 79 delegations have confirmed lodging in the Amazonian city of Belem for the United Nations climate summit, Brazil’s government said Wednesday.

Another 70 nations are still negotiating lodging, the government said in a statement after meeting with the UN climate body. Officials have credited an increase in confirmations in recent weeks to a task force set up to handle country-by-country accommodation demands, particularly for delegations facing greater hurdles.
