Sweden and Finland are urging the European Commission to rethink its approach to climate work, expressing concern that current rules that limit logging will severely impact the countries’ key forestry sector.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo sent a letter dated Monday to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, pointing out that reduced logging risks hampering the growth of industries that depend on timber to manufacture pulp, paper, bioenergy and much more.
