Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney launched a new government agency responsible for building affordable homes as he aims to boost the pace of construction over the next decade.

Carney announced Sunday that the agency, Build Canada Homes, plans to construct 4,000 factory-built homes on federal lands as one of its early steps. But the government’s ambitions are much larger than that.
