Swiss Government Mulls Fees to Fund Anti-Money Laundering Agency
The Swiss government is considering the introduction of fees to fund the Money Laundering Reporting Office, reacting to a sharply rising number of reports of suspicious activity in recent years.
The justice department was instructed to examine alternative funding options for the office — known as MROS — as it needs more resources to carry out its tasks, the Bern-based executive said in a statement on Friday. The ministry will present options by the end of next year.
