Spanish King to Visit China in November in Show of Close Ties

King Felipe VI of Spain will visit China on a four-day trip in November as Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez pushes to deepen ties with Beijing.

Spain’s head of state and Queen Letizia will travel to Beijing on Nov. 10-11, where they’re expected to meet President Xi Jinping, according to people familiar with the matter. The king will then visit Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, on Nov. 12-13, said the people, who asked not to be named as the information isn’t public.
