Pakistan plans to issue its inaugural tranche of Panda bonds before December this year, joining a host of countries looking to diversify their funding sources.

The South Asian nation aims to raise $250 million through the yuan-denominated debt, documents obtained by Bloomberg News showed. The issuance will be conducted through private placement on China’s national interbank bond market to qualified institutional investors. Pakistan’s finance ministry did not comment.
