The Story Behind the Story of Mandelson’s Epstein Emails

At 3:36 p.m. London time on Monday, Bloomberg News sent a 2,000-word email to Peter Mandelson, then Britain’s ambassador to the US, seeking comment on emails he had exchanged with Jeffrey Epstein.

Mandelson’s association with the late pedophile financier was well known and had been raised at the time of his appointment in February to the premier posting in the UK’s diplomatic service. But Bloomberg was asking about something entirely new.
