Freddie Mac US 30-Year Mortgage Rate Falls to 6.35%

The 30-year fixed mortgage rate for week ending Sept. 11 fell to 6.35% from 6.5%, Freddie Mac data show.

  • 15-year rate avg 5.50%, down from 5.60% a week earlier
  • From the report: "The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage fell 15 basis points from last week, the largest weekly drop in the past year,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s Chief Economist.
  • In a report out earlier this week MBA said the 30-year fixed rate was 6.49% for the week ending last Friday
