Boeing Falling Behind Certification Timeline for 777X Jet

Boeing Co. said it’s falling behind schedule to get its 777X aircraft certified with regulators next year, risking another delay on a program that’s already six years late.

While test flights haven’t revealed any new technical issues on the plane or the engines, there’s still a “mountain of work” left before the jet is certified, Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg told a Morgan Stanley conference on Thursday.
