Wyden Pushes Senate to Require Treasury to Share Epstein Records

A key Senate Democrat investigating the flow of funds in and out of bank accounts belonging to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein has drafted new legislation that, if passed, would compel the Treasury Department to hand over its records.

Senator Ron Wyden, the Finance Committee’s top Democrat, said he’s trying to attach his bill to the annual Pentagon policy bill, one of the few pieces of legislation expected to pass by year’s end. Republicans could block its inclusion in the must-pass defense bill but Wyden’s legislation puts newfound attention on the Oregon Democrat’s investigation into Epstein’s financial transactions, a probe which dates back to 2022.
