Ghanaian President John Mahama used his first press conference since his election to take a victory lap, celebrating faster growth, slower inflation and a stronger currency.

The media engagement comes hours after the national statistics agency announced the economy grew faster than expected, expanding an annual 6.3%. The inflation print in August also fell to the lowest level in almost four years, according to data released last week.
