Venezuela will increase security in four of its coastal states and one island amid rising tensions with the US over its recent deployment in the Caribbean.

President Nicolás Maduro ordered the deployment of “all available” troops and equipment to the states of Zulia, Falcón, Nueva Esparta, Sucre and Delta Amacuro, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López said in a video posted from a bunker on his Instagram account.
