The Federal Communications Commission lifted a regulatory cloud hanging over EchoStar Corp. on Monday after the company earlier announced it’s selling $17 billion worth of wireless spectrum to SpaceX.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said the commission would no longer be examining whether EchoStar had met milestones for building out its mobile network, according to a letter he wrote to EchoStar Chairman Charlie Ergen. Carr said the company’s required buildout and related obligations had been satisfied.
