Turkey’s main opposition is seeking to hold extraordinary congress on Sept. 21 in a bid to bolster its leadership after a court challenge threatened to unseat its chairman.

The meeting is planned for the week after a critical Sept. 15 hearing against the Republican People’s Party, or CHP. Chairman Ozgur Ozel could be removed if a court in Ankara rules to annul the party’s 2023 congress on corruption charges.
