Portugal will buy defense equipment from both Europe and the US as it prepares to ramp up military spending to meet NATO targets.

“We want clearly to invest in European defense,” Paulo Rangel, the country’s foreign minister, said in an interview from Cernobbio, Italy, on Saturday. “Even the Portuguese defense industry is progressing a lot, if you look at, for instance, drones.”
