Trump Claws Back 2025 Funding for Commercial Space Office

President Donald Trump’s administration has pulled back about 40% of the annual budget for the Department of Commerce’s commercial space policy office, people familiar with the matter said.

The cuts are likely to strain the Office of Space Commerce’s (OSC) efforts to mitigate the risk of collisions by satellites and other spacecraft in orbit, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision is confidential.
