Germany Buys €1 Billion in Israeli Drones Despite Gaza Friction
Germany plans to purchase three Heron drones for nearly €1 billion ($1.2 billion) from Israel despite growing calls from European allies to increase the pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop his military offensive in Gaza.
The deal is part of an avalanche of more than 80 military procurement orders for which the German government will seek parliamentary approval by the end of the year, including the purchase of 20 Eurofighter jets and several thousand tanks and armored vehicles.
