Photographer: Paulo Nunes dos Santos/BloombergPrime Minister Keir Starmer said he hopes the UK’s £10 billion ($13 billion) shipbuilding deal with Norway will be the “first of many” such defense contracts, touting similar talks with countries including Denmark, Sweden and Turkey.
Starmer raised the prospect of further deals while meeting workers for BAE Systems Plc at its Govan yard near Glasgow, which will construct Type 26 frigates for the Royal Norwegian Navy. The agreement jointly announced last weekend was the biggest of its kind for either of the two North Atlantic Treaty Organization members.
