Revolut Taps Ex-SocGen CEO Oudea as Western Europe Chairman

Revolut Ltd. has appointed former Societe Generale SA Chief Executive Officer Frederic Oudea as chairman for its new Western Europe operation, as the fintech firm ramps up its effort to displace bricks-and-mortar banks across the region.

“I had no intention of returning to work for a traditional bank,” Oudea told Bloomberg News in an interview Thursday. The role is a “good opportunity to take part in a new venture” in a firm that has the technological and financial means to succeed, he added.
