RBC Hires Citi’s Ruffini in London Amid Global Fight for Bankers

Royal Bank of Canada hired Ron Ruffini from Citigroup Inc. as a managing director at the company’s London office, part of a broader push by global firms to snap up bankers and traders.

Ruffini, most recently global co-head of commodities corporate sales, structuring, origination and new ventures at Citigroup, will lead commodities risk solutions in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe, the Middle East and Africa for RBC Capital Markets. Jason Goss, head of European solutions and structured products at RBC, announced the hiring Wednesday in an internal memo, the contents of which were confirmed by a representative for the firm.
