A rare meeting of Chinese fiscal and monetary policymakers has prompted speculation among analysts that easing measures are on the cards that will bolster the bond market and economic growth this year.

A joint working group of officials led by Vice Finance Minister Liao Min and People’s Bank of China Deputy Governor Zou Lan met recently and pledged closer cooperation in support of the economy, according to a government statement late Wednesday.
