Polar Unveils Whoop-Like Fitness Band Without a Subscription Fee

Finnish fitness-hardware brand Polar Electro Oy unveiled a screen-free fitness band that looks like — and directly competes with — a popular model from Whoop Inc., and notably does not carry a subscription fee.

The device, called the Polar Loop, tracks activity, sleep and other health metrics. It is available for pre-order in three colors for $199 and will go on sale Sept. 10.
