The Federal Reserve will host an Oct. 21 conference to discuss how to improve payments system in a bid to welcome new entrants tied to crypto and artificial intelligence.

“Innovation has been a constant in payments to meet the changing needs of consumers and businesses,” said Fed Governor Christopher Waller, adding that he hopes the conference would help the central bank hear from firms that want to help shape the future of payments.
