Omeed Malik’s 1789 Capital, an investment firm that includes Donald Trump Jr. among its partners, has been pitching a new fund focused on South Florida real estate, according to people familiar with the matter.

The new strategy would focus on developing properties in South Florida, particularly in Palm Beach and Boca Raton, in partnership with a local company called the Frisbie Group, one of the people said. Trump Jr. and other 1789 partners have held talks about the fund over recent weeks and lined up about $1 billion in initial investor interest, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions were private.
