Finland Adds Austerity to Reduce Fallout From Defense Boost

Finland’s government agreed on a budget for next year as it strives to address ballooning debt and kickstart growth in one of Europe’s weakest economies.

The cabinet plans to spend about €90 billion ($105 billion) in 2026, with €6 billion in additional funds directed toward defense, Finance Minister Riikka Purra told reporters in Helsinki on Tuesday.
