New EU Defense Plan to Benefit Poland Most, Von Der Leyen Says

Photographer: Janek Skarzynski/AFP/Getty ImagesThe European Union’s new €150 billion ($175 billion) plan to accelerate investment in the bloc’s defense industry will benefit Poland most, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.
“Poland will be the biggest beneficiary of this common investment for joint procurement,” von der Leyen said. The commission will prepare a roadmap for how to invest the additional defense funds in coming weeks and will discuss it with national governments in October, she added.
